PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Giraffe and Boy illustrates the bond between two beings navigating loneliness and uncertainty. Each figure is composed of fragmented yet self-sufficient moving parts, connected to a metal rod. The sculpture captures the delicate balance between adaptability and resilience, serving as a reminder that preserving one's identity is just as vital as staying open to new connections and experiences. SPECIFICATIONS: The character is originally made of printed molded plastic. Each element is molded, each detail is separately polished, and there are metal rods inside, which represent the red thread of giraffe's life. Furthermore, this sculpture can change its geometry in the process of creation. Giraffe can change the curve of its neck. And the details that make up this sculpture are not glued together, but are held on a metal bar that gets through the center of the details. PLANET: U2BeBetter EXHIBITIONS: Define: Seoul 2024 (Seoul).

The making

Sketch → 3D sculpting → photopolymer printing → surface finishing repeated up to five times → hand painting in two-three acrylic layers → assembly on brass pins. Every piece is painted by hand — no two are alike.
